Signature Circuit is our newest class created to bring Next Phase members improved strength, muscle tone, energy, workout balance, and variety.

Not your average group exercise class.

What sets this class apart is it’s phasic programming. Every Signature Circuit class will develop a different aspect of strength on a weekly basis. By targeting specific areas of the strength spectrum, participants will see effective results and little to no plateaus.

Why focus on strength?

Unlike classes that center around cardio and burning calories, Signature Circuit specializes at building strength while still burning calories. Through strength training, participants will see improvements in energy, lean muscle mass, caloric expenditure, confidence, and much more.

What to expect in class?

Classes will be circuit formatted. This allows adequate recovery between exercises and for a wide variety of equipment to be utilized. Each day has a total body focus, allowing you to add Signature Circuit to your workout routine wherever it fits!

Abby Bernhardt: Studio Manager

Abby loves motivating others to live active and healthy lifestyles. There is nothing more inspiring in her mind than to see people challenge themselves in order to reach their fitness goals.

Josh Deslouches

Healthy living is important to Josh and he feels that it should have a place in everyone's life! Just to prove the point, Josh is also in med school studying to be a doc in between teaching classes! He got into teaching because he wanted to help individuals meet whatever health and fitness goals they have set for themselves. Seeing people happy makes him happy!

Keren brings unparalleled enthusiasm and spunk to everything she does, and training her clients is no exception! TRX certified POP Pilates pro, Keren creates super creative workouts that activate all the muscles you never knew you had!

Andy Schaefer: Founder

As founder, Andy's goal is to make Next Phase your #happyplace. He wanted to create a fun place where people can still get a difficult and result-yielding workout, all in an inspiring, comfortable atmosphere. It's a full time job to spread happiness through fitness, but he wouldn't trade it for the world.

Kim Barbano

A former high school varsity swimmer and volleyball player, Kim has coached youth swimming and volleyball and has always had a passion for health and fitness. She's not only a group fitness instructor, but a butt-kicking personal trainer! Her cheery spirit and focus on form are just what you need when you're putting in work during her Super Circuit and TRX classes.

Allison James

Allison (AJ) is an ACE certified group fitness instructor who found her love for fitness by playing collegiate volleyball. After suffering a back injury that kept her off the court, she discovered group fitness as an outlet. Allison is grateful for to work at Next Phase where she continues to be inspired by her fellow instructors and amazing students!

Heather Reed

There's so much we could say about her, but here is Heather in a nutshell - Collegiate D1 Athlete turned Peacecorps Volunteer, who realized fitness was her calling while she traveled around the world. Heather was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome at a young age, so moving her body was never not an option. Playing sports through her childhood and teen years, Heather became quite adept at volleyball, so much so that she made it onto the University of South Carolina volleyball team. She even helped the University of Queensland win a national title in Australia and played in volleyball tournaments in 28 different countries! Heather is now committed to keeping herself and her clients fit, happy and injury-free!

Kellen Cannon

Kellen is from a background with heavy emphasis on athletics, and a love for some healthy competition. Participating in a range of sports throughout her life, she found her passion on the lacrosse field serving her teammates as a workhorse midfielder during her collegiate athletic career. Her desire to serve her teammates and own healthy lifestyle is what drew her to fitness. She has been relentlessly pursuing her passion for the past 5 years gaining her doctorate in physical therapy. Kellen firmly believes exercise is the best medicine, and loves to share her knowledge of the benefits of health and wellness with those around her, so others can lead happier and healthier lifestyles.

Radames Arocho

Spending the last 15 years in the health and fitness industry, Radames brings not only his experience, but his love and passion to every workout. With multiple certifications in personal training, group exercises, and nutrition, he is ready to get you to those and health and fitness goals while showing you how to have fun every step of the way.

Shayla Gerity

Shayla has been working in the fitness and wellness field for over 4 years. Not only does she instruct classes, but she’s also an ACSM certified personal trainer. She also works in corporate wellness, trying to help as many individuals as possible live their healthiest lives. In her free time she loves yoga, kickboxing, running, and lots of rest and relaxation.

Karly Ginieczki

Karly has had a passion for fitness and wellness since college, and has taken this interest into to the corporate wellness community. She enjoys teaching different group exercise formats, personal training clients of all different backgrounds and having a chance to make a daily impact in helping others live their healthiest lives. She is an ACE-certified personal trainer and loves helping others reach their individual goals through a motivational environment. Always having been part of a sports team, Karly also loves teaching group fitness because it is such a fun and team-focused outlet for staying active and hitting those goals.

Taneisha Woodard

Growing up with parents who played professional and collegiate sports, Taneisha was introduced to the fitness industry at an early age and has always led a healthy and active lifestyle. Taneisha has a background teaching Dance, Tae Kwon Do and Group Fitness Training such as TRX and HIIT. She enjoys finding new ways to challenge her clients through creative and fun workouts at Next Phase.

Birin Padam

Birin is all about healthy living! As a former semi-professional soccer player and college athlete he brings his competitive spirit to fitness by helping his clients reach their full potential in group classes and personal training. He is an ACE-certified personal trainer with over 4 years of experience training a variety of people including professional athletes, young adults, and individuals recovering from chronic disease. Outside of Next Phase, Birin is a Product Manager with an insatiable appetite for calisthenics (and, of course, soccer)!

Izzy Hussain

Izzy has been working in fitness for over two years as a group fitness instructor through AFAA and a personal trainer through NFPT. He also works in corporate fitness as a health fitness specialist, helping as many individuals live a healthier and more fulfilling life. In his free time he enjoys strength training, running, and reading.

Shannon has been a passionate health and fitness enthusiast for years. She is an ACE-certified group fitness trainer and enjoys teaching group classes and spread her passion for fitness at Next Phase Arlington! When she’s not instructing, you can find her personal training at Next Phase too!

Michael Symanski

Coming from a family of 10 kids, a fit and active lifestyle was instilled upon us at an early age. I played college football and baseball, and coached high school football and track. I have been certified in Personal Training and Group Instruction through ISSA and Fitour. I am looking forward to bringing my fitness passion to Next Phase.

Maren Seubert

Maren has always been in the industry of helping others and she has found a passion in becoming a group fitness instructor after moving to NOVA 10 years ago. Maren quickly developed an interest in TRX and has seen the results in herself with using the suspension trainer. Maren teaches TRX Group or Personal Classes and believes you can and will get stronger with practice and patience. Her classes are never the same and she will keep you energized through the entire class. She will make sure you have the form and technique down first and motivates you to push yourself a little more every time.
