Why We Love HIIT
HIIT, or high intensity interval training, is one of the most effective forms of exercise in terms of burning fat and revving your metabolism in a limited amount of time. HIIT is a training technique in which you give maximum effort for short periods of work followed by even shorter periods of recovery. These quick bursts of exercise keep your heart race up and increase your body’s need for oxygen. As a result, you experience EPOC, or excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, which increases metabolic rate and allows you to burn calories for up to 48 hours after you’ve completed your workout.
We love HIIT because it gives you incredible results in a limited amount of time. In fact, most HIIT workouts can be completed in 20-30 minutes, which is why we add HIIT to many of our strength- and core-based workouts. HIIT typically uses your bodyweight, meaning you can easily take these exercises with you on the road!
